The Entrepreneur’s Source Success Story: Brian Daniel

Listen

The Entrepreneur’s Source Success Story: Brian Daniel

Brian Daniel was feeling trapped. He was a super successful sales management executive for a well-known, national consumer product company, racking up numerous awards for his work. He was rewarded with a great salary, and bonuses, plus lots of sweet “perks”, like a company car. The future seemed bright for Brian, but after 17 years, he was ready for a change.

“What I enjoyed most about my position was the opportunity to be creative, to structure sales and marketing strategies to successfully reach corporate goals.” recalled Brian. “But near the end, I felt like I was not applying as many of my own ideas/strategies toward achieving results. That wasn’t very fulfilling for me.

“I have always had a strong entrepreneurial ‘itch’,” said Brian, “but acting on that was offset by the job security of the large company. Now, I felt like it was time to ‘scratch that itch.’”

That’s when he started exploring his options to own his own business, which eventually led to him to Susan Mell, an Alternative Career Coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source®, North America’s leading career transition coaching franchise. But he was still wrestling with the Big Question: to have the freedom to be creative, and run his own business, was he really willing to take the next step and walk away from his high profile, well-paying management job?

We had the chance to talk with Brian from his office in Southern California about how Susan and The Entrepreneur’s Source helped him in finding that answer. But it took a little time, and Education, Awareness & Discovery to get to it.

TES: Tell us about your first meeting with Susan.

Brian Daniel: She and I first started talking last year. I was up front with her about not being sure about leaving the corporate environment for many reasons. Chief among them: I was the sole breadwinner.  I asked her to call me back in 6 months and I would make a decision.

TES: What Happened?

BD: After a fantastic 2016 financial performance that did not yield the praise and reward I’d expected, the company and I separated our relationship in early 2017.   I was out of the corporate world for the first time in 17 years. It was exhilarating, but a bit disconcerting at the same time. I’m glad Susan called me back, as she had promised!

TES: So how did Susan and TES help you?

BD: First, Susan had  a full, in depth coaching session  with me to find out what my Income, Lifestyle, Wealth, and Equity (I.L.W.E.) goals were, which was a great experience. These were MY goals (my WHY), not someone else’s!

Next, I was provided some self-assessment tools to help me better communicate and engage with the opportunities I would be looking at.  She was very thorough, and focused. This was definitely not a “one size fits all” consulting situation, but a very empowering coaching experience.

Once we completed the education, awareness and discovery phase, she started sharing with me with different franchise business models she thought would fit MY goals, needs and expectations.  Together, we validated those companies, their operational processes, business model feasibilities, and other factors. She never once pushed one company over another, but offered clear coaching that empowered me to come to my own conclusions.

TES: Tell us about the company you chose, InXpress, and why?

BD: InXpress is a global freight and shipping company, which focuses primarily on small to mid-sized businesses. We provide face-to-face service and a smooth shipping process, which saves customers time, hassle, and money.

When comparing companies during my validation, their operation was head and shoulders above the rest. Plus, owning an InXpress franchise provides me with the ability to provide well for my family, have more flexibility over my time, and allow me the opportunity to move my base of operations to another state if I want to.

TES: What is that like-launching a new business?

BD:  I have an MBA and certainly understand many components of business, but the learning curve is the steepest I’ve ever encountered! It’s hard work, and there’s risk involved, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it! TES invested in my early success by helping me figure out my corporate structure, best source for business funding, and really laying out a solid framework from which to launch. No way I could have done this without Susan and The Entrepreneur’s Source coaching experience. We basically went from signing the InXpress franchise license agreement in June of this year, to opening our doors in August as a fully functioning business.

TES: How is your business doing?

BD: We are growing rapidly and projecting to have 75-100 clients a year from now. The goal is to have enough residual business so that we can throttle back on sales, while re-investing in the business, and having more control over my time.  This is the creativity I craved in becoming my own boss: finding a way to have more life balance, while providing for my family, and to do what we want to do, when we want to do it.

If you’re ready to take that next step, like Brian, to becoming empowered, and not just employed, while really defining your Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity (I.L.W.E.) goals, The Entrepreneur’s Source® wants to talk with you. 10 Gifts from The Entrepreneur’s Source to Empower YOU

10 Gifts from The Entrepreneur’s Source to Empower YOU 2.0 This Christmas

The joys of the holidays are all around us as we cherish time together with friends and family. We share our love and appreciation for each other through the giving of gifts, just as we have done for thousands of years.

So what gifts are you thinking about this year to give, and which ones are you dreaming about to receive? Maybe you want to do a little “Self-Santa,” giving yourself the opportunity of making a new career? If that’s the case, The Entrepreneur Source,  North America’s leading Career Transition organization has presents under the tree just for you, to help you take that step in 2018. And you don’t have to wait until Christmas to open them!

1. Maybe the first gift to unwrap is the option to free yourself from “Battered Career Syndrome,” the “gift” which will keep on giving unless you decide you’ve had enough of having zero control over your professional life.

2. Next, open this one to provide the attitude and confidence you will need to focus on your new career. You need to be a “New You” for the New Year. Think of this as your “starter set”!

3. Here’s something you will really need for the journey: a guidebook! Your Career 2.0 – A Survival Guide for the Battered Career and Investor Syndrome offers answers to the questions you have, and WILL have, plus offers practical advice on just about every aspect of your quest.

4. This gift is really four gifts in one: Income, Lifestyle, Wealth, and Equity (I.L.W.E.) goals. These will kick start your vision for the life you’ve always wanted for your family and yourself when you become self-sufficient.

5. Here’s another “multi-gift” opportunity straight from us at The Entrepreneur’s Source: four “F Words” that will help you clear the obstacles which will present themselves during your journey. By knowing the challenges ahead now, the better you’re able to confront and overcome.

6. If you’re a corporate exec, tired of the games, the hours, the time away from family, and constant pressure, maybe a gift of reading how others have made the transition to being their own boss will inspire you.

7. Veterans, with real-world skill sets, homed in the military, you want more than a “9-5” existence. Open this present to see the options available to you to create a better path to your civilian transition.

8. Thinking about college, or a career with limited options? Maybe this present will offer inspiration to take a different path toward entrepreneurship, and away from classes that aren’t preparing you for the future, YOU want.

9. Maybe you have been victimized by Corporate America, blind-sided by a sudden down-sizing, which had nothing to do with your talents or abilities. This wonderful gift will help you realize there’s real hope this holiday season, instead of continuing to suffer from what we call The Battered Career Syndrome.

10. Above all, embrace the possibilities of what COULD BE as you contemplate the New Year. An open mind is something you really need, but not like another pair of socks, or underwear. Be the first kid on your block to ride out on a shiny, new career as a franchise business owner, with the help of The Entrepreneur’s Source.

The Entrepreneur’s Source and Your Career 2.0: The Ideal, Last Minute Christmas Gift for YOU!

The Entrepreneur’s Source and Your Career 2.0: The Ideal, Last Minute Christmas Gift for YOU!

It used to be so easy…

The old “Sears Christmas Wish Book” used to come by mail to the house. You excitedly examined every page of toys in it, wrote down your list, and mailed it to Santa. Better yet, you got coveted “one on one” time with the big man himself at the local department store, to share it with him.

But now, you’ve grown up…

No more list making, and when people ASK you what you want for Christmas, there’s no pre-programmed, 20-minute answer of all the goodies you want, like when you were a kid. You may actually draw a blank.

But if you’re stuck in a dead-end job, spending your time making money for someone else, and hoping your year-end bonus isn’t a “pink slip”, you know the answer: a new job.

How do you know?

It’s no secret hundreds of thousands of people are very unhappy in the workplace, dissatisfied with their career path, and pay, and just hanging on, hoping it will get better before they retire-or are forced out. In fact, approximately 479,000 people this year shifted from Employment to becoming an Entrepreneur as their Career 2.0 calling.

As Terry Powell, the CEO and Visionary Founder of The Entrepreneur Source, North America’s leading career and franchise business coaching company, says, “We want people to stop settling for the ‘New Normal!’ Job security is a thing of the past. Working longer, for less, is what the business economy demands today.”

“At TES, we call this “Battered Career Syndrome”, and for too long, Americans have bought into the notion they can’t leave a job, and must make constant trade-offs to keep it. But it can be done, and all it takes is an unflinching, realistic look at your current position, and the Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity (I.L.W.E.) goals you could have through becoming your own boss!”

Your Grown-Up Christmas List must contain Your Career 2.0 – A Survival Guide for the Battered Career and Investor Syndrome

We all have those last- minute gifts we have to get for everybody else. Make this gift one for yourself.  Self-sufficiency is a dream, until you write it down, then it becomes a goal. Let’s examine the goals on your list…the goals our book, Your Career 2.0, will help you identify and achieve:

  • Income:

True financial freedom is probably not possible in your current position. Salaries just don’t grow nearly as fast as they did a few years ago, and they’re not likely to again. Do you want the option of becoming self-sufficient, and earning what your worth, and not just a paycheck-which could vanish with the next corporate merger? Let’s face it: what got you here, won’t get you there.

  • Lifestyle:

People today don’t mind working hard, especially if it directly benefits them. Do you want a career which offers you more flexibility and freedom, or are you thrilled with telling your family over and over there’s no time for a vacation, or to watch the school play? There are no guarantees any more that the hours you put in mean your job is secure, so why keep playing that game?

  • Wealth:

This is the by-product of an increasing income. You not only fund your current lifestyle, but entertain options to grow real wealth. The kind of wealth which can help secure yours and your family’s future.

While you’re living paycheck to paycheck, like millions of Americans, can you even dream of growing your net worth? Also, are you that confident the money in your 401K will be enough for retirement, or even be there when you do retire?

  • Equity:

How much of your current job do you own? Unless you have stock in your company, not much.

Real equity comes when you own your own business, and it becomes an asset you can use as you pay off debts associated with it. That’s another positive option of being self-sufficient. Plus, it can be passed on to the next generation, if you desire.

OK, my list is done, and I’m really intrigued. What’s the next step?

Gathering the Facts and using Your Career 2.0 and The Entrepreneur’s Source as your Guide. There are many options to becoming self-sufficient, but to make sure your goals are REALISTIC, you have to discover how others have accomplished taking control of their lives and financial futures. You also have to be open to blowing up the old paradigms and ways of thinking. Yes, that’s scary, but if you gather and examine the facts, not run with emotions, or pre-conceived ideas, and be really willing to explore, you just might find yourself ready to truly break free of the corporate bonds which hold you back.

The Entrepreneur’s Source can offer that education, awareness and discovery  through Your Career 2.0 and our network of award winning alternative career coaches. They are highly trained, and many have been right where you were: at the same career crossroads, choosing to become empowered rather than just employed. They have the “cred” to shepherd you on your Journey of Discovery.

Be good to yourself this Christmas, and your family. Resolve to make this the last holiday you spend chained to “Christmas Past”. Give yourself the gift of self-sufficiency, this year!

If you would like the opportunity to have more control over your professional life, while enjoying the Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity you deserve, The Entrepreneur’s Source wants to talk to you. The Entrepreneur’s Source: How to Accomplish YOU 2.0 in 2018

The Entrepreneur’s Source: How to accomplish YOU 2.0 in 2018.

Around the first of every year, the majority of us start thinking about making New Year’s Resolutions. This yearly tradition, which dates as far back as Ancient Rome, is a time we quietly check in with ourselves and see what we can improve on in the coming year. While one in three Americans starts the year off by making a New Year’s Resolution, sadly, less than 8 percent of us will actually achieve our goals.

Go From Employment to Empowerment

While many of us strive to become autonomous in our employment, we oftentimes fall into the trap of staying unhappy in our careers due to fears of taking a leap and making a change. If you’re unsatisfied in your current career and are looking to turn your employment situation around, 2018 can and should be the year that you transform from You 1.0 to YOU 2.0®. Make this year’s New Year’s Resolution to achieve YOU 2.0® and move from Employment to Empowerment®.

Unsure of where you should start?

Achieve YOU 2.0® by setting clear goals for yourself.  Below The Entrepreneur’s Source® explains how you can begin your journey to YOU 2.0® by analyzing the Dangers, Strengths, and Opportunities that come with achieving self-sufficiency.

Dangers

Dangers are the thoughts and ideas that keep you up at night, the obstacles, stressors and issues that are currently facing you or what may face you in your future. Dangers make an individual feel as if they have no control over their destiny and often discourage an individual from following through the goal that they have set for themselves. Some common dangers that people are concerned about include:

  • How long will I be able to keep my current job?
  • Are my skills transferrable?
  • Is my age a limitation in my career?
  • Do I have the ability to build the wealth and equity for my family?

The dangers you face should not paralyze you; there are ways to be proactive and overcome these circumstances. Every individual has the power to take control of his or her career by aligning themselves with a coach who will guide you to see beyond your current blind spots, and empower you to overcome these perceived roadblocks.

Strengths

Strengths, in short, are what you’re considered well at: Your talents, capabilities, and skills. These are what you should capitalize on when creating YOU 2.0® because they can act as the tools to achieve your dreams. Start by asking yourself what you believe your strengths are with these guiding questions:

  • Do you have an immaculate work ethic?
  • Are you adaptable and resilient when it comes to change?
  • What transferrable skills do you possess?
  • Are you possibilities focused?

There are dozens of questions that an individual can ask themselves to determine what his or her unique strengths are, the ones above should only be a starting point. When looking into your strengths, don’t wallow in your weaknesses because dwelling on these can hold you back from self-sufficiency. Instead, focus on the positive.

Opportunities

Opportunities are the circumstances and possibilities that get you excited and motivated to make a change. It’s not always easy to see what possibilities are out there because dangers sometimes overshadow the opportunities, but you can overcome this by focusing on what you want in your future, not what will stop you from getting there. Some opportunities that an individual can focus on include:

  • Your hunger to create the lifestyle of your dream
  • Your desire to spend more time with your friends and family
  • Your yearning to become financially independent
  • Your aspiration to become more passionate about your career.

It’s easy to get inspired by the opportunities that stand before you because in reality, they are endless. By writing down the most important ones to you, this can help you become more driven to actually set a pathway for you to accomplish them.

Achieving YOU 2.0® is a process and may take some time, but by starting the transformation by identifying your Dangers, Strengths, and Opportunities as the first step in the process, by the time 2019 rolls in You 1.0 can be long gone.

Why not invest in yourself and your future this holiday season and get yourself a copy of the book: Your Career 2.0®: A Survival Guide for the Battered Career and Investor Syndrome®.

Terry Powell, Visionary Founder of The Entrepreneur’s Source® and the driving force behind Start a Business Weekend, is proud that his company’s virtual expo has attracted so much attention from prospective franchisees and franchisor partners.

  • So what’s the secret?

“I had seen the virtual expo concept used successfully with other business models and believed it could be even more successful in the franchise arena,” said Powell. “So, we embraced it as a key component of our franchise coaching business at The Entrepreneur’s Source (TES) and it has just taken off.

Powell adds, “nothing embodies the entrepreneurial spirit like the cutting-edge technology which fuels these virtual expos. It brings together top thinkers and magnetic keynote speakers, while allowing exploration of outstanding business opportunities at no cost to the attendees. That’s one goal we have stressed in the 5 years of doing this.”

  • It’s simple…

“Start a Business Weekend’s goal is to offer attendees as much personal, one on one interaction as possible, making ourselves available to talk with them about any aspect of Start a Business Weekend® or business ownership. It’s one of the most powerful educational programs we offer at The Entrepreneur’s Source® as North America’s leading alternative career coaching franchise“ said Powell.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer the next wave of business owners this opportunity to truly connect with what their lives could be like if they choose to become self-sufficient and empowered instead of simply being employed, “said Powell.
