The Entrepreneur’s Source: Blast From The Past

The Entrepreneur’s Source (TES) Blast From The Past: Susan Stilwell. Shifting From Probability to  Possibilities to Make Dreams Come True

Susan Stilwell says she is a born sales person. It was the hardest thing for her to let go of when she joined The Entrepreneur’s Source® thirteen years ago.

It’s one of the things that make’s The Entrepreneur’s Source® so unique: “We are not franchise sales people,” Stillwell says. “Coming from a sales environment into a coaching methodology was a shift for me personally. I had to learn to detach from the outcome and allow people to go through the discovery process.” It’s that discovery process that has made The Entrepreneur’s Source® so successful over the last 35 years.

Stilwell already had the entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to help others. She was part of the staffing industry for the first fifteen years out of college helping people find jobs and helping companies solve staffing problems. She found that she was also helping someone else make a lot of money!

“I was doing well. I was with one of the top staffing firms in the country. I had a high level position, but I figured out that I was really tired of making money for other people. I wanted to reap the rewards of my efforts,” Stilwell remembers. “What I didn’t have was the confidence to do it by myself.”

Stilwell listened to her entrepreneurial itch and went into business with several partners. The work was rewarding and eventually, it allowed her to take some time to focus on her growing family. When the time came that she was ready to return to work, she met Terry Powell.

“I was so intrigued with what he had to say. It was so fresh and so unique. Having been an employee…having been an independent business owner and having been in a career transition…everything he was saying just made sense to me. I knew I wanted to be a part of it.”

Stilwell found that her past experiences in the corporate world, as an entrepreneur, and as a person trying to re-enter the workforce gave her an appreciation for the vision Powell had. “I learn from Terry every day. It was his take on entrepreneurism that fascinated me. He didn’t want to be that guy out there peddling businesses. The Entrepreneur’s Source® was established so that people that had a desire for self-sufficiency would have a safe space to go to, to get the information they needed because there wasn’t a place out there like that.”

Now Stilwell works to help spread that vision to more and more seekers – people who are searching for their path toward the American dream. As part of franchise development, Stillwell helps educate e-source coaching candidates to make sure TES brings the right coaches into their system. “You have to have a strong desire to help people. We are NOT looking for franchise sales people. We are NOT brokers. We are NOT consultants. We are career transition coaches. When we show possibilities to our clients, we are giving them the opportunity to explore them in a safe space…at their own pace.”

Stilwell also works with TES franchise partners…making sure TES clients have a wide variety to choose from…and that those partners understand what makes each of our clients unique. “We want then to start with the franchisees WHY. We want them to understand that you have to start with education and awareness and let the self-discovery begin from there. We want to slow the process down and provide them with all the information needed so our clients can make the best decisions about their future for their families.”

Stilwell now focuses her skills on one thing: The Entrepreneur’s Source’s® unique brand of self-discovery as a way forward to entrepreneurial success. It’s made us North America’s leading alternative career coaching franchise dedicated to the entrepreneur for more than 35 years.

“We’re in the business of possibilities. I see the future of that becoming even more exciting.”

The Entrepreneur’s Source: Achieving the Impossible With the Help of “Mission Control”

Fifty years ago, America did the impossible… or at least what was believed by many to be the impossible. On July 20, 1969, 240,000 miles from Earth,  Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, landed on the surface of the moon.

“Houston,” Armstrong said. “Tranquility base here. The Eagle has landed.”  “Roger, Tranquility. We copy you down,” came the reply from Charlie Duke in mission control.

Six hours later at 10:56 p.m. EDT,  Armstrong became the first person to set foot on the moon while a worldwide audience watched it unfold in real-time. How many different emotions did that audience of more than a half a billion feel do you think? Fear, excitement, awe, and triumph: I suspect all of them.

America is the leader in doing what many believe to be the impossible. How do we do it? It’s a combination of American ingenuity and our particular brand of drive! It’s that desire to blaze our own path — and to go places where others say we can’t. And if there’s anything we love here at The Entrepreneur’s Source®, it’s doing the thing that others say we can’t. Accomplishing the impossible. That drive is alive and well, and it can be found in the entrepreneurial spirit.

Thirty-five years ago, our Visionary Founder, Terry Powell, realized something important; something that has since changed thousands of lives for the better. As an entrepreneur himself, he realized that out of all the people that were interested in becoming self-sufficient through business ownership, only 5 percent were being helped along the path. WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 95 PERCENT? They were written off as “tire kickers” that weren’t ready to move forward with cash in hand. Far too many people were giving up on their pursuit of the American dream way too soon. All they needed was a little guidance and education to help them along their road to success.

So, we ask you — What if the engineers and the astronauts at NASA had listened to the naysayers about putting a man on the moon? Lucky for all of us, they didn’t listen. Neither did Terry, and neither should you!

Terry’s vision became The Entrepreneur’s Source®, North America’s leading alternative career coaching franchise. For 35 years now, we’ve helped thousands realize that the “impossible” is actually pretty simple when you have someone to help guide you.

That’s what we do at The Entrepreneur’s Source®. Our alternative career coaches provide you with awareness and education and help you along your own path of self-discovery until you reach your own moment of clarity — that moment where you realize that your goals, needs, and expectations aren’t impossible, and you see the path forward to achieving them.

Those astronauts had the power of a Saturn V rocket to propel them forward; our seekers have their own powerful technology to turn to. Our exclusive Start a Business Weekend® is the nation’s largest online franchise business expo, allowing you to begin your journey from the comfort of your own home! Our exclusive FranchiseMatch® tool allows you to explore opportunities in just two minutes.

The Entrepreneur’s Source® is in the business of exploring possibilities. We are a group of coaches dedicated to helping people achieve their goals. You do it at your own pace. Shoot for the stars from a safe space.

So tonight, I encourage you to take a moment to look up to the night sky and imagine the courage it took for those brave men and women who landed those first men on the moon. They pursued their dream and ignored those who said it was impossible, and today we are all the better for it. You too can launch your way toward undiscovered territories. We know it can be uncomfortable to make a change, but it can also be exciting, awe-inspiring, and triumphant. And The Entrepreneur’s Source® offers you this guarantee — you will not be alone in your efforts to make the impossible/possible.

The Entrepreneur’s Source: The Life-Changing Connection

Branden Bowden is what we call a “seeker” here at The Entrepreneur’s Source® (TES). Bowden, a husband and the father of two little girls, believes that he always had the entrepreneurial spirit.

“I enjoy spending time with my family, and fishing and hunting,” says Bowden. “I wanted to do the things that I wanted to do, and not worry about asking for time off. And even though I worked very hard during the hours I was on the job, I just couldn’t come up with a profession where the pay would make up for the time I was trading.”

It’s a familiar problem. Every year, our coaches talk to thousands of seekers just like Branden. Many of them are seeking answers to the same question: how much does time lost with my family, my children, even myself, cost? Is this job worth it?

Branden’s TES coach, Debbie Seeman, says she’s seen the burnout before.

“Many of our clients come from a corporate culture that expects them to be available far beyond the typical 8–5 job. Many times, the expectation to exceed normal hours is not written, but is certainly expected, giving the individual worker far too little time with family.”

Seeman says when you add travel into the mix, you end up with burnout and troubled relationships.

“(Branden) and his wife were expecting their first child, and his inner values about being a good father and being gone most of the time did not mesh. He wanted to be able to plan his own schedule and include family time.”

Many would-be-entrepreneurs are scared of taking that first step. For Branden Bowden, the problem wasn’t fear. He’d taken risks before.

“Through the years, I started various business ventures and always seemed to hit a wall. I felt if I could see the framework of a successful franchise and just duplicate and implement the process, how could it go wrong?”

That’s the beauty of franchising. You aren’t wasting your time reinventing the wheel. Instead, you can focus on what matters most for your business, so you can have time to focus on what matters most in your personal life, too. Branden found The Entrepreneur’s Source online and made the life-changing connection.

“I remember the day Debbie Seeman called me. I was working a territory about an hour and forty-five minutes from home. Debbie introduced herself and asked me if I had a minute to tell her a little about myself.”

Bowden wasn’t sure about the process at first.

“She was building a profile of what my interests were, what my background was, things I liked, what things I didn’t like. With that, she was able to really cut through the time-wasting and get me in front of real opportunities,” Bowden says. “I do know that if she had just put another long list of possible franchises in front of me that I would have moved forward with anything.

Seeman says getting to know clients first is what sets The Entrepreneur’s Source® apart.

“We really strive to know our clients well before we begin to show them options. Probing to find out not only what would appeal to them in business, but finding out their goals, needs, and expectations for their whole life including family and faith, as well as goals and dreams they thought they could never make come true sets us apart.”

Seeman worked with Bowden through the entire process.

”She explained to me the process , the types of questions to ask, and things to look for. I know if I didn’t have her laying it out in front of me, I would not have become a business owner.”

Making the change wasn’t easy. It never is. But when you make the move from employment to empowerment, it’s worth it! Bowden eventually decided to go with Service Team of Professionals (STOP) a cleaning and restoration service.

“I started with just me and one truck, working out of my garage,” Bowden tells us. “I now have four employees, and I am in a commercial space.”

“The earnings potential is pretty well limitless at this point. I am busy. I do have to spend time away from my family just as I did before. But now, if I want to stay home and cook my kids breakfast, I can. On nice sunny days, if I want to cut out early to take the kids swimming, I do. I don’t just have weekends to choose from anymore.”

Bowden is the perfect example of the success you can achieve if you fight your fear and step out of your comfort zone.

“If you even think you can do it, pick a business, set a goal, and go for it! Put fears and negative people behind you and I know it will work out,” advises Bowden. “You don’t need a background in marketing, accounting, or business. There are people everywhere (with your franchise) that will help.”

The Entrepreneur’s Source: Answering the Call for Independence

The Entrepreneur’s Source: Answering the Call for Independence.

Corina Mack and Amanda Hebert have a lot in common.

The two women are award-winning franchise owners with a leading hospitality talent acquisition franchise.   Both were also recently named co-Franchisees of the Year at the company’s annual convention this year.

And perhaps most importantly, both women used an alternative career coach working with The Entrepreneur’s Source® to help them get to where they are now.

The call of independence, to be their own boss, to determine their own future… was a call that Corina Mack and Amanda Hebert could not ignore.

Mack and Herbert were willing to take a look at what was just beyond the comfort zone of corporate America. Alternative career coaches with The Entrepreneur’s Source® (TES) – like those who helped Mack and Herbert – are dedicated to showing people the possibilities and the options that are out there; if you’re just willing to take a look and keep an open mind.

Corina Mack actually didn’t have to look very far. She was already in the field of talent recruitment and had already met and become friends with her TES coach, “I met Mike at one of the job fairs, and we became friends. After I was unexpectedly laid off, he was the first person I thought to call.”

“I came to Scot before I even really knew what he did,” says Amanda Hebert about her TES coach.  With concerns about the future of the pharmaceutical industry, Amanda was looking to realize a life-long desire to own her own business. Amanda says Cummin gave her the boost she needed to move forward. “He helped build my confidence. He always talked about empowerment, about controlling your schedule, controlling your destiny.”

Both women have used confidence to drive their businesses forward, not just meeting their goals, but exceeding them. The Franchisee of the Year Award goes to the Patrice & Associates franchisee that truly “exemplifies the company’s values.” That includes having a successful operation, supporting fellow franchisees, and keeping an overall positive attitude.

“I adore Amanda. She is actually someone I’ve worked very closely with and it’s pretty cool to be sharing the spotlight with her,” says Mack. For Hebert, it was an unexpected honor. “Especially to be named with Corina! She’s taught me a lot in the business, and I look up to her.”

Both TES clients went through the process, set their goals, and followed their dreams. It set the stage for a successful relationship with their coaches and with The Entrepreneur’s Source — and with their futures. “The Entrepreneur’s Source® definitely provided a level of guidance. I never would have found out about Patrice & Associates without them,” says Hebert.

“It’s no cost to you, so what do you have to lose,” adds Mack. “The Entrepreneur’s Source really opened my eyes to all types of opportunities.”

Declare your own independence this 4th of July by exploring your own possibilities.

If you’re ready to break free from the Battered Career Syndrome®, to go from Employment to Empowerment®, this Independence Day is for you.
